An elven paladin with apparent difficulty holding to the true path of Gwydion’s Light.
Having fallen from grace, she embarks upon a mission apparently to restore herself to the light, despite the cynicism of her allies. She took an enemy soldier and made him her squire, and is attempting to bring him into the light.
Nearly slain in a Trial by Combat by the human Sigraanite monk, Zane (the Grey), her life was spared when her friend, the priestess Aun, prayed to Zardina for intercession.
Zardina, who was present at the duel, interceded between Corri’, despite opposition from both the sons of the House of Dawn (who were also present).
In an interview, held outside of time, between Zardina, Aun and Corri’, she explained that she had no power to undo death; but in the instant before death falls, she might perhaps intercede. This is the moment she had caught them out of, and would return them to when all was done. However, she cannot easily thwart Owein, the Lord of Death, if a death has been decreed in this time and place, it must happen. Aun, understanding her goddess, offers her life in exchange.
Zardina warns that this is not lightly done; even with this, she cannot promise a long life for Corri’, because Corri’ is at odds with herself, and the Trial by Combat was to resolve some of these issues. In essence, Corri’ lost the Trial by Combat because she wasn’t pure enough, by the standards of Gwydion, whose law she and the monk both represented aspects of. If Corri’ does not, in some way, change her ways, she will surely fall prey to this nature of hers again, and Zardina will not intercede a second time, even should a priestess of hers request it. She also offers this: if Corri’ can find a way to atone for her sins, and return to the true path of the Light, either as a paladin, or as something else, within two years, then she will keep Aun’s spirit from the Judgement of Owein for that time, and , IF AND ONLY IF Corri’ can find a priest who can and will raise the dead, Aun will yet be in a position to return, if she wishes.
